Had been looking for some old "lard cans" for some time, as my wife stores flour and sugar in them as well as cookies for the holidays, and ours were upwards of 30 years old. These are an excellent product, perhaps not quite as heavy a gauge metal as the old ones, but well made with snug-fitting lids. She is very pleased with them, and you know, "when Momma's happy, everybody's happy!"

I bought these for my son. He lives in the country and sometimes has a mouse problem, these tins are the perfect storage solution for flour and sugar.

I bought this to hold flour and sugar. Very cost effective though a little on the thin side for both lit and base. I dropped the lid gently and it dented the first day. Over all though it looks great and works great. It does seem to hold water as well, though I do not know that it is meant to for long periods of time as it is really framed after the smaller lard cans.
